Günter Walbeck
Günter Mattias Walbeck (* 3. January 1939 in Dresden , † 21st April 2014 in Dusseldorf ) was a German stage and costume designer .
Günter Walbeck received his artistic training in the stage arts class of Teo Otto at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1960 . In 1964 he moved to Zurich as Teo Otto's assistant .
This was followed by engagements at theaters in Vienna , Kassel , Berlin , Hamburg , Munich and Düsseldorf .
Since 1975 Walbeck lived and worked in Düsseldorf again, where he created equipment for Wuppertal , Neuss , Essen and Dortmund, among others .
Walbeck worked with many important directors, including Bernhard Wicki , Leopold Lindtberg , August Everding , Karl-Heinz Stroux , Fritz Kortner and John Dew . He also entered into a long-term working group with the Berlin opera director Nikolaus Sulzberger .
