Günther Beck (born December 31, 1976 in Innsbruck ) is a former Austrian biathlete .

Günther Beck, who grew up in Höhnhart , devoted himself entirely to biathlon after graduating from high school . In 1997 he made his debut in Östersund in the biathlon world cup . Together with Wolfgang Perner , Ludwig Gredler and Wolfgang Rottmann , he won the relay race in Hochfilzen in December 1999 . This was his only victory in a World Cup race. His greatest individual success was winning the European Championship in singles in Haute-Maurienne in 2001 ahead of the German Andreas Stitzl . In 2003 he reached second place at the Austrian individual championships in Obertilliach before ending his sporting career that same year.

From 2003 to 2009 he studied medicine at the Medical University of Innsbruck and graduated with a doctorate on October 10, 2009 . He has been married to the former German biathlete Martina Beck since July 24, 2008 .

Since the 2010 Winter Olympics he has been working for ORF as a co-commentator on biathlon broadcasts.
