Günther Hussong

Günther Hussong (born June 17, 1948 in Kirkel , Saar) is a Saarland dialect poet ( Rhenish Franconian dialect ), cabaret artist, songwriter and CD producer.

Life

Hussong works full-time as a teacher of geography , French and religion at the Von der Leyen-Gymnasium in Blieskastel . In the East Frisian "exile" in Emden (1977–1991), Hussong discovered his love for the Rhineland-Franconian (Palatinate) dialect and in 1991 published a Saar-Palatinate dialect dictionary. After his return to Saarland , he was initially the author and editor of the home calendar “Snapshots”. In 1997 Hussong produced the CD “E weider Wää noo Bethlehem” as a copywriter and speaker, the Christmas story based on the Gospel of Luke. In 2001 the second CD followed, “Das doo fangt joo gut an” (The Saarland creation story from the Big Bang to the Flood). In 2004 the CD “Nix wie lauder Huddel” was released, with excerpts from the dialect cabaret programs with which Günther Hussong has been publicizing as “de Plattmacher” since 2001.

In 2001, Hussong was appointed to the “ Bosener Group ”, an association of well-known artists from Lorraine , Rhineland-Palatinate , Baden-Württemberg , Alsace and Saarland. He represented the Rhine Franconian dialect (Saarland and Palatinate) at the central celebration for the Day of German Unity 2006 in Kiel as part of the event "Germany in Dialect".

Hussong's versatility is documented by awards in dialect competitions in the areas of poetry (2002: “Moral courage”), prose (2003: “Spendegeld” and 2006 “Nix like Huddel with 'him' and 'him'”) as well as in scenic representation (2005: “Plato flat ”, the allegory of the cave as a funny breakfast conversation of a married couple). In addition, there is the participation in church services, school policy publications, the chronicle of the gymnastics club Kirkel, local history publications and numerous contributions on radio and television.
