Günther von Sydow

Günther von Sydow (born July 14, 1855 in Dobberphul , Koenigsberg Nm.November 1, 1924 in Wernigerode ) was a German administrative and church official.

Life

Günther von Sydow was born as the son of the gentleman on Stolzenfelde Wilhelm Karl von Sydow (1823–1907) and Antonie geb. von Heyden (1826–1908). After attending high school in Wernigerode he studied at the University of Lausanne , the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn and the University of Leipzig law . In 1875 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . After graduating, he entered the Prussian civil service. From 1883 to 1905 he was District Administrator of the district Falkenberg in the administrative district of Opole . From 1905 to 1923 he was Consistorial President of the ecclesiastical province of Westphalia .

Von Sydow was married to Angelika Freiin von Schuckmann (born November 1, 1860). They had four daughters. His older brother was the administrative lawyer and politician Konrad von Sydow .
