Gigi wants nothing more than to have her daughter with her again and to give her two teenage children a good education. But Amanda wants to start over in Dallas and doesn't want anything to do with her mean image from 20 years ago. She quickly realizes that it is not easy to escape her past. Carlene Cockburn in particular is not enthusiastic about Amanda's return, as she was tortured by it at school. It was only through support that Carlene made it from ugly duckling to southern beauty. It is not easy for her to bury grudges against Amanda, even if the Bible says so.

Carlene's best friends include Cricket Caruth-Reilly, Sharon Peacham, and Heather Cruz. The focus is on the housewives, whose lives revolve around church, sex, gossip and gossip.

characters

Amanda Vaughn
After 20 years as a widow with two children, she is returning from Los Angeles to her hometown, a wealthy suburb of Dallas. She's not exactly proud of her past. Her husband died under scandalous circumstances.
Carlene Cockburn
She was tortured by Amanda at school. In addition, she was an ugly duckling and only made it to a southern beauty with "support". She leads a lavish life with her adorable husband Ripp.
Sharon Peacham
She was a former beauty queen who has changed over time. She stole Amanda’s crown chance in the Miss Teen Beauty Pageant by creating a rumor.
Heather Cruz
An outsider in high school, she now belongs to the high society of Dallas.
Cricket Caruth-Reilly
She once unhooked Amanda's boyfriend. Cricket is a tough, successful business woman with a seemingly perfect marriage.
Ripp Cockburn
He's the husband of Carlene: he's an intimidating oil baron who is very Christian. Ripp has an interest in Amanda when she returns to Dallas, thinking that she has something to hide.
Blake Reilly
He's the stylish and stunningly handsome (but gay) husband to Cricket. He works at Cricket's company and loves living on the ranch. He is friends with Amanda, which Cricket is not enthusiastic about.
Zack Peacham
He is Sharon's husband. When the two married, they were the golden couple from Hillside Park. But those days are long gone. He has a crush on Amanda.
Gigi stopper
Gigi is the perfect model lady and Amanda's mother. Gigi loves her family, cocktails and her church. She is thrilled that Amanda and her grandchildren are back to living under their roof and raised under their rules. They are not allowed to call their grandchildren Grandma, but Gigi.

In September 2010 it was announced that ABC got the rights to the book series. A presentation order was ordered in February 2011 . Jennifer Aspen first got a lead role in the series pilot in February 2011. On March 1, 2011, the female lead Amanda Vaughn was given to Leslie Bibb . In March 2011, Miriam Shor and Marisol Nichols joined the pilot. On March 14, 2011, the role of Carlene Cockburn was awarded to Kristin Chenoweth . David James Elliott was cast as Carlene Cockburn's husband Ripp on March 16, 2011.

On May 13, 2011, the pilot was officially ordered as a series, which will then start in spring 2012. In addition, ten episodes were ordered for the first season.

Series title

ABC originally wanted to give the series the same title as the book series is called: Good Christian Bitches . However, some Christians and Christian organizations were not enthusiastic about the title because they feared that it would have degrading effects on Christianity. Also, some of the advocates for women were against it as the word "bitch" would be problematic. So ABC decided to rename the series Good Christian Belles . In the end the title was renamed again, namely GCB .
