Tom Everett Scott (born September 7, 1970 in East Bridgewater , Massachusetts , USA ) is an American actor .

life and career

After graduating from high school, he first studied communications at Syracuse University , but in his sophomore year he attended a theatrical performance that inspired him to change his field of study and study drama.

After graduating, he moved to New York City and initially made a living as a waiter until he starred in the musical comedy That Thing You Do! , the directorial debut of Hollywood star Tom Hanks . This was followed by supporting roles in series such as Emergency Room - Die Notaufnahme and leading roles in the films American Werewolf in Paris (1997) and Family thing with Renée Zellweger . In the short-lived series Do Over - Back to the 80s (2002/2003) he played the 34-year-old self of the protagonist Joel Larsen and was thus also the narrator's voice. From 2009 to 2011 he was seen in the television series Southland . Scott is also active as a voice actor.

Tom Everett Scott has been married since 1997 and has two children.
