action

In Paris , in the underground of the city, there seems to be something eerie: a person disappears into the sewer, abducted by a creature.

The American Andy McDermott and his friends Brad and Chris tour the city. A pretty young woman appears there preparing for a bungee jump from the Eiffel Tower at night . When she jumps down with suicidal intent, Andy jumps behind with the rope on his foot. His friends hold onto the still loose end, Andy catches the woman, but bumps his head while jumping and wakes up in the hospital. Surprisingly, the woman runs across the hall. His friends find a suicide note that reveals their identity: Serafine Pigot. She is briefly tied to the three of them at her address, but agrees to meet Andy later.

The meeting in a café is not going well, Serafine disappears again. The three friends therefore want to visit her at home again in the evening, but only meet one Claude there, who sends the three to a party in underground cellars nearby. Serafine is not there, Chris returns to the villa alone and finds her locked in a cell in the basement. Chris tells her about the party, sets her free and is locked in the cell by her. Serafine guides Andy away from the others through underground corridors, Brad follows, and the party turns out to be a banquet for the organizers, who turn into werewolves . Brad is killed by a werewolf. Serafine chases Andy away from him. On his escape through the sewer system, he is pursued by a werewolf and bitten in the foot, but is able to escape.

The next morning he wakes up in the Pigots' villa, his transformation into a werewolf has already begun. After having visions and meeting Serafine's undead mother, Andy flees from this new reality. Brad also appears to him and warns that there will be innocent victims. Andy observes the recovery of body parts and the dead Brad at the party location. He meets an American tourist whom he tears up as a werewolf at night. He returns to the Pigots with resignation.

Andy learns that Serafine is also a werewolf. Her father wanted to find an antidote, but the developed serum triggered the transformation immediately and resulted in Serafine as a werewolf killing her mother and seriously injuring her father. The serum was stored in the Pigot's house and was stolen by the werewolf gang so that it could transform itself independently of the full moon. The next "banquet" especially for Americans will soon take place as an " independence party ".

Serafine and Andy want to put the gang at the party in a church. After the gang blocked the church portal, they injected the serum. Andy warns the visitors in vain. Police among the guests become hunted themselves. Serafine can drive the excavator away from the entrance, whereupon the majority of the party goers can escape. Andy and Serafine shoot the werewolves with guns from dead police officers. Their leader, Claude, fled underground through a passage. Serafine injects the serum and defeats Claude in the battle of the werewolves. Unsuspecting, Andy shoots the victorious werewolf, who limps away. Andy goes after him and finds the transformed, injured Serafine. She tells him that if he kills her and eats her heart, namely the heart of the werewolf that triggered his transformation, he will be healed. As the police arrive, Andy has to flee and falls down through an opening, followed by a werewolf. It is Claude who, transformed back to human, wants to inject himself again in a stopped subway . But Andy recognizes by a scar that Claude and not Serafine bit him that night. He snatches the serum from him and injects it himself, kills Claude as a werewolf and devours his heart. For Serafine, the adrenaline administered in the ambulance turns out to be an antidote.

Months later in New York Andy Serafine wants to put on a wedding ring. But the ring falls down from the Statue of Liberty ; both of them who had prepared a joint bungee jump jump after and Andy catches it. But this time Chris cannot hold Andy's rope, which has not yet been fastened; As he looks down, he sees Andy hugging Serafine, whose rope is already tied.

Reviews

"At the beginning a harmless teenage comedy, the film quickly turns into an absurd horror parce with dumb characters."

"[...] the script comes across too weak despite the cooperation of Landis and it always fails during the implementation, this sequel never reaches the wit of the original. Only Julie Delpy is partially convincing, but cannot save the film. "

"Casual sequel to John Landis' cult shocker."
