The GKV computer science GbR ( gkvi ; own spelling gkv computer science ), based in Wuppertal is a civil partnership with the shareholders AOK Northeast , AOK NordWest , AOK Rheinland / Hamburg , Barmer and HEK - Hanseatische Krankenkasse . It makes IT services available to them to a varying extent. The company, founded in 2006, is a working group in accordance with Section 94 of the Social Code, Book X, and employs a total of over 860 people at several locations in Germany. GKVI looks after the workplaces of over 41,000 users at around 1,000 locations across Germany and, among other things, realizes the central collection of contributions for around 17 million insured persons for its shareholders .

In February 2004 a committee of representatives of the Barmer Ersatzkasse , various state AOKs , the ARGE Nord and the AOK-ISC Teltow founded a group-wide working group - the ARGE informatik Betrieb . The task of the working group was to provide the required IT services in high quality by pooling resources and knowledge according to technical and economic aspects. The letter of intent signed in April 2004 formed the basis for the later articles of association of GKV Informatik. This was signed on April 7, 2006 in the constituent meeting of the shareholders' meeting by the boards of the AOKs Berlin, Brandenburg, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Rhineland, Saxony-Anhalt , Schleswig-Holstein and Westphalia-Lippe as well as the Barmer Ersatzkasse. At this point in time, the company served around 23% (based on the proportion of insured persons represented by the health insurance companies) of the German market for statutory health insurance (GKV).

Managing directors

Peter Martensen was appointed managing director when the company was founded. In March 2007 Stephan Bühring was appointed second managing director. In 2009, after Peter Martensen left the company, he took over the position of spokesman for the management. In March 2013 Georg Büttner was appointed second managing director. Stephan Bühring left the management in March 2015. On April 1, 2015, Oliver Hoffmann was appointed as the new management spokesman. In January 2017 Georg Büttner became sole managing director. Steffen Horst has been the second managing director since April 1, 2019.

Shareholder

Shortly after GKV Informatik was founded, AOK Rheinland and AOK Hamburg merged to form AOK Rheinland / Hamburg . From January 2010, GKV Informatik accompanied the associations of its shareholders AOK Berlin and AOK Brandenburg to AOK Berlin-Brandenburg , AOK Westphalia-Lippe and AOK Schleswig-Holstein to AOK Nordwest and later AOK Berlin-Brandenburg and AOK Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to AOK Nordost . In addition, the Barmer Ersatzkasse merged with the Gmünder Ersatzkasse to form Barmer GEK in January 2010 . On January 28, 2011 GKV Informatik took on a new partner, HEK - Hanseatische Krankenkasse . HEK is the first shareholder not involved in the establishment. On January 1, 2017, Barmer GEK merged with Deutsche BKK to form Barmer Ersatzkasse . As of January 1, 2019, AOK Sachsen-Anhalt is no longer a shareholder of gkv informatik ; the services ended in May 2018.

The corporate structure is based on the principle of a value chain . This describes the path of an IT service from planning through development to production and provision of the IT service to the customer. The company processes are structured according to best practices of the IT environment. For this purpose, GKV Informatik is based on standard reference models such as ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) and IIM (Industrialized Information Management).

Service portfolio

GKV Informatik describes its services as standardized IT services in a modular service portfolio . The services in the portfolio include infrastructure , application operations and IT services for business process support, the takeover of business processes ( BPO services) as well as consulting, purchasing and supplier management with regard to the procurement of IT solutions.

Oscare

Since 2006, GKV Informatik has supported the automatic deployment of the Oscare software as a GKV industry solution for its shareholders. The SAP- based software product is a registered trademark of AOK Systems GmbH. As an integrative IT platform, it maps all business processes of statutory health insurance . The software is developed to support the handling of business processes such as master data management, contribution and benefit management , controlling and statistics. The application is gradually being distributed in various modules.

Data centers and data security

GKV Informatik operates two certified data centers with a total area of ​​more than 3000 square meters at two spatially separated locations. The central computer center in Wuppertal is connected to the branches of the customers of GKV Informatik through a nationwide data network. For the Privacy and IT security provide modern technical security systems and strict security policies. Fire protection sensors, extinguishing and air conditioning systems as well as a separate power supply ensure disaster risk management and the uninterrupted operation of all important systems.

Electronic health card

In spring 2007, GKV Informatik was granted permission to issue the electronic health card in a security report by Gematik - Society for Telematics Applications. The electronic health card is used by those with statutory health insurance as identification for the use of services at doctors, dentists, in hospitals and other service providers . GKV Informatik operates the necessary infrastructure for its shareholders to issue the electronic health card (generation and delivery of order data) as well as the corresponding specialist services, such as B. the card application management system (KAMS) and the insured person's master data service (VSDD), in a certified high-security environment. To date, more than 20 million electronic health cards have been issued by GKV Informatik.

GKV Informatik has been a member of the Federal Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media since 2009 . The industry association represents the interests of over 2,200 companies in the digital economy . GKV Informatik also belongs to the Voice - Federal Association of IT Users, which networks the IT decision-makers in its member companies.

Awards

In a ranking by the magazine Focus , GKV Informatik was chosen among the top 55 employers in Germany in the telecommunications and IT sector in 2014 and 2015 . On the list of Germany's best employers in the telecommunications and IT sector published by Focus in 2016 , GKV Informatik was ranked 26th. In 2015, GKV Informatik was included in the Lünendonk list of 25 leading IT service companies in Germany .
