Grand Prix Herning

The Grand Prix Herning is a Danish road bike race .

The race was held for the first time in 1992 under the name Grand Prix Midtbank . From 2003 it ran under the name Grand Prix SATS , from 2005 under the Grand Prix Herning and from 2007 to 2011 also as the GLS Express Grand Prix . The venue is the area around Herning . The one-day race has been part of the UCI Europe Tour since 2005 and was classified in category 1.1. Since 2013 it belongs to category 1.2. The record winner is the Danish Tour de France winner Bjarne Riis , who won the race three times.
