The Gafadurahütte is a hut belonging to the Liechtenstein Alpine Association (LAV). It is located above the Rhine Valley and the town of Planken on Alp Gafadura at 1,428 m in the Rätikon in Liechtenstein , near the Austrian border below the Three Sisters (2053 m) and the Garsellikopf (2105 m). The nearby Alp Gafadura at 1407 m gave the LAV hut its name.
history
The hut was originally built and used as a princely hunting lodge in 1926/27. In 1954 the hunting lodge was sold by Prince Franz Josef II to Erwin Kocher, who was the tenant of the hunting grounds at the time. With the purchase agreement of December 18, 1967, the hunting lodge was transferred to the Liechtenstein Alpine Club on January 1, 1968, which, after the necessary renovations, opened the hut on July 7, 1968. On the occasion of the opening 50 years ago, the Liechtenstein Alpine Association (LAV) published a commemorative publication (“Gafadurahütte”) in 2018 and on July 7, 2018 a star hike to the Gafadurahütte was carried out.
Tours
The hut is easy to reach from the Rhine Valley ( Schaan ). The ascent to the Gafadura hut from Planken takes about 1.5 to 2 hours.
Simple circular hikes or demanding tours can be completed from the hut (e.g. crossing the three-sister chain to the Fürstensteig in Gaflei , on which surefootedness and a head for heights are required).
Sarojaalpe (also called Hinterälpele), Tisner Schihütte, Feldkircherhütte / Alpe Amerlug, Gasthaus auf der Alpe Sücka and the Pfälzerhütte (Bettlerjoch) can be reached in a short distance .
