Gail Katz
Gail Katz is an American film and television producer .
Life
Katz grew up in Beverly Hills , where her father ran a coffee shop.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley and, since 1980, a Master of Business Administration from the Yale School of Management. Already during college she worked in a film studio.
After completing her studies, she began working for New World Pictures, where she was first Vice President of Finance and later Vice President of Production. After leaving New World Pictures, she began making her own films. From the 1990s she worked several times with director Wolfgang Petersen and produced his films Death in the Mirror , In the Line of Fire - The Second Chance , Outbreak - Silent Killer , Air Force One and The Storm . Petersen had moved to Los Angeles in 1987 and the following year had reorganized his production company Radiant Film in collaboration with Gail Katz as Radiant Productions . Katz acted as the company's CEO.
In 2008 she founded Gail Katz Productions , with whom she produced the TV series Cashmere Mafia and the feature film Peasant Sacrifice - Game of the Kings . In 2015, she secured the rights to film the board game The Settlers of Catan .
She is a professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts . Katz has also taught at Yale University , UCLA School of Film, Art Center College of Design , University of California at Santa Cruz, and Berklee College of Music .
Her marriage to lawyer Bruce Wessel had a daughter and a son.
