Gaja Gamini ( Madhuri Dixit ) was born out of the black stone wall in Pandharpur. The stone wall is a metaphor just like Gaja Gamini. The wall that does not stand on its own, the wall that does not separate, but unites two worlds and two generations.

These two elements are reflected in Gaja Gamini. When she breaks out of the wall, she manifests herself in four different characters - Sangita, Shajuntal, Monika and Mona Lisa .
