Die Galerie der Phantasten was a series of books published by Georg Müller Verlag in Munich , published between 1914 and 1922 by Hanns Heinz Ewers .

It appeared in both simple and bibliophile editions and presented a cross-section of fantastic literature in eight volumes, which were provided with illustrations by important contemporary graphic artists and had many editions. Among them were Ernst Stern and Paul Haase , Richard Teschner and Alfred Kubin , whose novel The Other Side with its own illustrations was also published here.

In addition to authors such as Oskar Panizza and Karl Hans Strobl , Edgar Allan Poe and Honoré de Balzac were also represented, whose early work reveals influences from English horror literature and E. T. A. Hoffmann , the most influential German-speaking narrator of this genre.

Ewers, whose work is pervaded by numerous motifs of decadence and who wrote the novel Horst Wessel in 1932 . A German fate wrote, presented with the volume My Burial, a collection with its own stories.
