Garfield in the Wilderness (Original title: Garfield in the Rough ) is a cartoon film originally produced for the American television station CBS from 1984, which is based on the cartoon series Garfield written and drawn by Jim Davis .

story

Jon Arbuckle and his pets Garfield and Odie are terribly bored, so they decide to travel. Unfortunately, the nice owner understands a dream vacation differently than a dog and a cat, which is why they camp in a wildlife park on Lake Woebegone. Even after the tent that was much too small and the lack of lasagna, Garfield longs for home, which even a nice campfire song can't distract him from. But the danger is even greater when Garfield learns from Billy the rabbit and the beaver Dicky that there is a black panther in the area that has escaped from the zoo. When the beast attacks John and Odie, Garfield cannot contain himself and jumps onto the panther's back. However, the real saviors in an emergency are the rangers , who anesthetize the panther with an anesthetic dart. Now the friends can calmly start their way home.
