The Garmo AG is a German dairy -Unternehmen based in Stuttgart, the 1975 by Eduardo Garcia was established. The company quickly developed from an importer of Turkish products to Germany to the European market leader for “ethnic dairy products ”. The best-known brand of Garmo AG is Gazi.

Garmo AG supplies the Turkish-ethnic trade in 50 countries, especially Germany, Benelux, Scandinavia, France, Great Britain, Austria and Switzerland. Non-European markets are also supplied with dairy products. Garmo AG has achieved market leader status among Turkish wholesalers and retailers in the EU. In 2016, 52,000 tons of cheese and yoghurt products were sold under the Garmo AG brands.
The majority of the products are produced in Germany. The main production sites are the Crailsheim-Dinkelsbühl dairy and the Schrozberg dairy. In addition to Turkish delicatessen stores, the products are also offered in German food retailers, such as Real , Toom , Kaufland and Marktkauf . With Gazi, Garmo AG has one of the few dairy product brands in Germany that offers a complete range of Turkish cheeses from soft cheese to Kaschkawal hard cheese to yoghurt specialties typical of the country such as Ayran . The products are halāl certified.
history
Garmo AG is the operational holding company of the Garmo Group . Garmo was founded in 1972 by Johannes Laurentius Maria Kars and Gerhard Mogck as Karmo-Import GmbH based in Rommelshausen near Stuttgart. Karmo-Import GmbH was renamed Garmo-Import GmbH in the 1970s. Garmo GmbH was founded in 1975 by Eduardo Garcia as an international food trading company. The company has been operating as Garmo Aktiengesellschaft since February 15, 2002 and, with the Gazi brand, is Europe's largest marketer of Turkish-style dairy products. Products outside of Turkey - such as sheep's cheese from Bulgaria - have also been added to the range. CEO and sole shareholder of Garmo AG is Dr. Eduardo Garcia.
Marketing and Sales
Garmo AG focuses on marketing and sales; production is largely outsourced. In addition to the main brand Gazi, other products are sold under the following brands: Ömür, Bahar, Bagazi, Kars, Puma, Sardo Bianco and Sirtakis.
Traditionally, the Turkish media are used for advertising throughout Europe, in major Turkish daily newspapers and on Turkish radio and television. The in-house advertising agency Gazi Promotion GmbH also belongs to Garmo AG.
Main brand Gazi
The best-known brand of the dairy production company Garmo AG is Gazi. The name Ghazi is a Turkish honorary title, it is the name for a Muslim warrior who takes part in the Ghazw and thus becomes a "fighter for the cause of God " ( al-ġāzī fī sabīli ʾllāh ). For specialties such as the Gazi branded grilled and pan cheese, spots are shown on German television and large-scale outdoor advertising.
Sports sponsorship plays an important role at Garmo. With the Gazi brand, Garmo AG is involved in professional sports as well as in youth and recreational sports. From 2002 to 2012 Garmo AG with the Gazi brand was the main sponsor of the Stuttgarter Kickers . Since 2005 the stadium under the Stuttgart TV tower has been called the Gazi Stadium on the Waldau . From July 1, 2010 until the end of the 2011/12 season, Garmo AG was also the main sponsor of VfB Stuttgart . In the 2017/2018 season Garmo AG and its best-known brand Gazi are sleeve sponsors on the jersey of Bundesliga soccer club VfB Stuttgart. Gazi also supports the association as a so-called "Premium Partner". Gazi is also sponsoring soccer coach Christoph Daum and his assistant coach Roland Koch . As a sponsor, Gazi is also present in boxing.
social commitment
The Gazi Children's Foundation runs an orphanage in the Turkish city of Karamürsel on the Marmara Sea, which houses 140 children. The old building was completely destroyed in the 1999 Gölcük earthquake . The building was rebuilt with funds from the Gazi Foundation.
In addition, the Gazi Children's Foundation supports regional projects with an integrative background, including the “Football meets culture” project. For example, football training is combined with language lessons at two schools in Stuttgart.
