Gary is a German indie rock band around the singer and actor Robert Stadlober .
history
Stadlober founded the band in 2000 with a few friends. The members changed more often at the beginning, but today's drummer Rasmus Engler , who u. a. is also active in the bands Herrenmagazin and Das Bierbeben and the actor David Winter joined the band. After a first minor success with the single Green Trees , Winter left the band in 2001. Other members in the following years were Kai Gabriel ( Janka ) and Johanna Laute ( Die Grächenkinder , Flo Fernandez) until the current line-up was found with Astrid Noventa and Daniel Moheit.
In 2002 the band released their first album entitled The Lonely Cnorve Machine . For the recordings, the band did not accept any of the offers from various record companies that wanted to release the album due to Stadlober's fame, but applied themselves with a demo tape to the label Zomba Records , which finally offered the band a contract. Apart from a few sampler contributions, little was heard from the band in the following years, which performed a few concerts with changing members in the following years.
It wasn't until 2010 that the second album, One Last Hurray for the Lost Beards of Pompeji, was released on Stadlober's own label, Siluh Records . This was followed by video shoots for the titles Leave Me and Will You and numerous appearances. In March 2012 the third album Hey Turtle, Stop Running! released.
