Extraction and presentation
O , O -Diethylchlorothiophosphate can be obtained by reaction of thiophosphoryl trichloride with ethanol
or by reaction of phosphorus pentasulfide with ethanol and subsequent chlorination of the intermediate product formed.

Diethylchlorothiophosphate is used as an intermediate in the manufacture of insecticides such as Chlorpyrifos , Coumaphos , Diazinon , Parathion , Phoxim and Triazophos .
