Rasmus Engler (born July 24, 1979 ) is a German musician and author.

Engler has been with Robert Stadlober's band Gary since 2000 and as a drummer at Herrenmagazin since 2004 . He is also the guitarist of the band Das Bierbeben , in which Jan Müller ( Tocotronic ) and Thies Mynther ( Superpunk , Phantom / Ghost , Stella ) also play. Other band projects are and were Dirty Dishes and Stosstrupp Revival Duett with Jan Müller as well as Zarkoff's Coming , Little Whirls and Ludger , the latter together with Kevin Hamann , among others .

Engler is part of the "Künstelrgruppe ( sic ) im Namen des Volkes", founded in 2000 , which was part of the 2008 West Side Story exhibition in the WCW Gallery .

In 2007, together with Jörn Morisse, he published the book What are you living on ?: From survival in precarious times , in which 22 artists - including director Benjamin Quabeck , writer Harry Rowohlt , photographer Sibylle Fendt and musician Nagel - explain their strategies for surviving low wages in the portray the creative scene. Engler himself earned money with jobs in a Hamburg music club and as a shipping aid for a publishing house. He also writes as a freelance writer for intro , concrete and Zuender (until 2009).

In autumn 2008 Engler went on a reading tour with Olli Schulz entitled Rock'n'Roll forgives you nothing . Engler acted as editor of Schulz's planned book. In 2006 he had already played a few gigs in the Bibi McBenson band together with Schulz, Nagel ( Muff Potter ) and Dennis Becker ( Tomte ) .
