Gary A. Myers

Gary Arthur Myers (born August 16, 1937 in Toronto , Ohio ) is a former American politician . Between 1975 and 1979 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Gary Myers was born in Jefferson County , Ohio and grew up in Evans City, Pennsylvania. Between 1943 and 1951 he attended the primary school there; in 1955 he graduated from Evans City High School . He then studied until 1960 at the University of Cincinnati and until 1964 at the University of Pittsburgh . He then worked in mechanical engineering and in the field of industrial engineering . He became a foreman in a steel mill. Between 1961 and 1968 he was also a member of the United States Air Force Reserve . At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . In 1972 he ran unsuccessfully for Congress .

In the congressional elections of 1974, Myers was in the 25th  electoral district of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC chosen, where he previously resigned the succession of three days at January 3, 1975 Democrat Frank M. Clark took. After re-election, he was able to complete two terms in Congress until January 3, 1979. In 1978 he renounced another candidacy.

After his tenure in the US House of Representatives, Gary Myers worked in the steel industry. He also worked as a consultant in technical matters in the field of mechanical engineering. He spends his retirement in Butler .
