Gary Baker (born August 8, 1952 in Niagara Falls , New York ) is an American producer and songwriter . Among other things, he was successful with the hit I Swear , which was originally sung by John Michael Montgomery and which appeared as a commercially successful cover version of All-4-One and thus became a bestseller worldwide in 1994 . In 2010 he sang the title together with eleven participants in the German talent show Popstars and reached number 69 in the German single charts.
He has also worked for the Backstreet Boys , LeAnn Rimes , Ronan Keating , Boyzone , Jessica Simpson and 98 Degrees .
