The Gasthaus zum Adler in Bermatingen , a municipality in the Lake Constance district in Baden-Württemberg , was built in 1596. The inn at Markdorfer Strasse 1, a prominent urban development location at the intersection of Autenweiler Strasse, Salemer Strasse and Markdorfer Strasse, is a protected cultural monument .

The two-storey half-timbered house with living area and economy is traufständig to Markdorfer road. The former feudal farm with tavern of the Salem monastery is marked with the year 1596 on the abbot's coat of arms. The threshing floor is partially plastered and the gables are shingled .

The Tafernwirtschaft has a magnificent portal on the eaves side facing the street with an abbot's coat of arms in the front gable . The timber-framed building with a simple structure with studs and curly foot aspire is the oldest half-timbered house in Bermatingen.

The Gasthaus zum Adler, together with the town hall and the Einhaushof at Autenweiler Strasse 1, form the center of the town and therefore define the townscape .
