The Gauschla is a summit of the Alvier group in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen .

It stands as the first two-thousand - meter peak in this entire chain above the Sargans valley division , but is not visible from there because of the Gonzen pre-summit towering over Sargans . The mountain lies entirely on the ground of the Rheintal municipality of Wartau , which also includes the Palfris plateau above the Seez valley to the west .

Characteristic

All elevations in the Werdenberg area drop steeply to the west and are much gentler to the east.

The summit chain of the Alvier group continues over the Alvier via the Fulfirst in the direction of Gamsberg and then merges into the Churfirsten chain over the Sichelchamm protruding to the west . The peaks remain between 2200 and 2380  m above sea level for the entire 15 kilometers . M. up to then descend at the western end of the Selun .
