Geert Hammink Hendrik (* 12 July 1969 in Didam ) is a former Dutch basketball player, in the American US NBA , German basketball league , the Greek A1 Ethniki and briefly in the Italian Lega Basket Serie A played in. After his active career, Hammink works as a player agent and is part of the agency's management.

College and NBA

Hammink played on the position of the center . During his time at Louisiana State University , he served as the reserve of the later world-famous NBA star Shaquille O'Neal . Only in his final year in college in 1993 as a senior, in which Shaq already played for Orlando Magic in the NBA, he got more playing time and was the best point collector and rebounder of his with an average of 15.3 points per game and 10.2 rebounds per game Team. In the following NBA Draft he was selected in the first round by O'Neal's club Orlando. He made a short detour in Italy, where he could not prevent the relegation of Cantù. He then returned to Orlando, but was only able to play a total of eight games for Orlando Magic and the Golden State Warriors in the NBA in three years, interrupted by a detour to the CBA in Omaha.

Greece and Germany

He played his first full season in Europe for Panionios in Athens. He then came to Germany and won three German championships with Alba Berlin, as well as a cup winner in 1999 and vice-versa in the final four tournament of the cup the following year . He won the Greek Cup in 2001 with AEK, with which he also reached the semi-finals in the ULEB Euroleague , which was played for the first time . After a stint at Aris Saloniki, he played again in Germany for the now insolvent RheinEnergie Köln club. With Cologne he reached the cup final twice and won it in 2004.
