Geir Skeie (born July 2, 1980 in Fitjar ) is a Norwegian chef .

Life

Skeie runs two restaurants, both called Brygga 11 , in Sandefjord and Leirvik. Before that, he was the head chef at Mathuset Midtåsen Solvold in Sandefjord , owned by Bocuse d'Or award winner Odd Ivar Solvold . He also worked in the restaurants Le Canard , Solsiden and Palace Grill in Oslo and in the Skarsnuten hotel in Hemsedal .

Geir Skeie made the Bocuse d'Or his business when he saw Bent Stiansen on television in 1993 , the first Norwegian to win the competition. For the competition, Skeie was trained by Odd Ivar Solvold. With 1020 points, Skeie also had a considerable advantage over the runner-up, the Swede Jonas Lundgren .
