Charles Tjessem (born May 5, 1971 in Sandnes ) is a Norwegian chef .

Life

Tjessem is the head chef and owner at Charles & De in his native Sandnes . For the Bocuse d'Or he was trained by Odd Ivar Solvold , who won this bronze award in 1997. However, he had already received further training from Bent Stiansen and Eyvind Hellstrøm . He came first in 2003 and was the captain of the Norwegian national culinary team between 2000 and 2004 before ending his competitive career with a farewell review at the International Culinary Arts Exhibition .

In 2006 Tjessem published the book Rett Skal være rett ( Norwegian for: Simply stand straight ).
