The Geiseljoch , also outdated Gaiseljoch , is a 2292 m high pass between the southern mountain range of the Inn Valley and the Tux Valley ( Vorderlanersbach ) in the Tux Alps .
The Geiseljoch was mentioned in a document as early as 889. The Geiseljoch used to be a much-traveled route from the Tuxer and Zillertal to the markets in Hall in Tirol and Innsbruck .
The path from the Inn Valley to the Geiseljoch leads from Weer via the Weidener Hütte . The Vallruckalm is located southwest of the Geiseljoch.
In autumn 2012, a new cross by the Weerberg artist Franz Knapp was erected on the yoke .
Since there is a track closed to public traffic over the Geiseljoch, this pass can be used not only by hikers but also by mountain bikers. The classic route of the Transalp Challenge in 1998 led over the Geiseljoch.
From the Geiseljoch, the Halslspitze and the Rastkogel can be climbed over the ridge moving eastwards.
