Geisenhausen is a district of the community Schweitenkirchen in the district of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm (Bavaria).

The village is located in the north of the community on the Geisenhausener Bach, a tributary of the Wolnzach . The A9 motorway with the Holledau service area passes directly to the west .

history

Parish Church of St. Emmeram

In 829 the place appears as "Kysinhusir" (Houses of Kyso), "Kysenhusen" and 1098 as "Gisenhusen". In the late Gothic Catholic parish church of St. Emmeram there are, among other things, sculptures from the 15th century. Geisenhausen used to belong to the Wolnzach rule . The Wittelsbach land register came to the Preysing family in the 14th century . The municipality of Geisenhausen, founded in 1818 with the Bavarian municipal edict , included the main town, the districts Bettermacher , Birketbaur , Feldhof , Großarreshausen , Hueb , Kleinarreshausen , Neukaslehen , Peiglmühle , Preinerszell , Stelzenberg and Westing . Later the Aign wasteland was added. On May 1, 1978, the municipality Geisenhausen was incorporated into Schweitenkirchen as part of the municipal reform.
