The 2011 census showed a population of 42,048 for the municipality of Bar. Of these, 19,553 (46.5%) described themselves as Montenegrins , 10,656 (25.34%) as Serbs , 3,236 (7.7%) as ethnic Muslims , 2,515 (5.98%) as Albanians and 2,153 (5.12%) ) as Bosniaks .
