The Gemeindealpe ski area was equipped with two new chairlifts in 2003, which are also operated in summer. The slopes are exposed to the east. The lower slopes are equipped with artificial snow-making systems. This guarantees regular ski operation from December to March.
The deficit lifts of the Mitterbach mountain railways have been operated by the state of Lower Austria since winter 2011/2012 and have been integrated into the organization of NÖVOG so that they should return to profitability in conjunction with the Mariazellerbahn . In addition, the chairlifts should also be in operation in the summer months.
