The Generalkommando 61 was a command authority of the army of the German Empire during the First World War .

The General Command 61 was a General Command z. b. V. ( General Command for Special Use ). These emerged from 1916 and were purely command posts, associations were assigned to them as required.

history

Lieutenant General Karl Surén was appointed commander of the newly established General Command zbV No. 61 in November 1916 . Until the end of the war, the General Command was mainly deployed in the Balkans. In 1918, the General Command was part of the 11th Army deployed on the Macedonia Front and, together with the General Command, led 62 mostly Bulgarian divisions. When the Balkan front collapsed in September 1918, the command deployed in the area north of Monastir was subordinate to the Bulgarian 2nd, 3rd and 4th Infantry Divisions.
