Replacement corps
The replacement corps was a briefly existing large unit of the Prussian Army in the course of mobilization at the beginning of the First World War .
history
In August 1914, as part of the mobilization , Ludwig von Falkenhausen was appointed commanding general of the replacement corps of the 6th Army with a total of three replacement divisions. The command of the replacement corps was transferred to the Falkenhausen Army Division on September 17, 1914 , which was later designated as Army Division A in the Duke Albrecht Army Group and was deployed in the southern section of the western front between Verdun and the Swiss border from the middle of the war.
