Gentleman (also GENTLEMAN ) is a K-Pop song by the South Korean singer Psy .

interpretation

In the song Psy sings self-deprecating about how he as a gentleman ( German gentleman ) is responsive to a party women. The choreography of the circling hips is a kind of homage to the music video for the K-pop song Abracadabra by the Brown Eyed Girls from 2009.

Music video

The original video on YouTube received over a billion views. In South Korea, the TV station KBS does not broadcast the Gentleman music video because it contains vandalism and has been classified as "inappropriate". In one scene at the beginning of the video, Psy steps away from a traffic cone .

Chart success

The song was offered in over 100 countries on April 12, 2013. Gentleman was immediately the most downloaded track among online music services in South Korea .

In the British singles charts , the song debuted on April 14, 2013 at position 61. A week later, Gentleman reached number ten in Great Britain. On the same day, the song rose to number twelve on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart . In Germany, Gentleman rose to number twelve.

On April 25, 2013, Gentleman was listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the "Most clicked video in 24 hours" .
