The sensor expert Patrick Zbinden , the young chef Ralph Schelling and Markus Blattner, chef de bar at the Widder Hotel, were involved in the development of Gents .

production

The Gents raw material is manufactured by a company on Lake Zurich . The lemon aroma is obtained from 30 tons of Sicilian lemons during the high season and extracted using a proprietary process. In Appenzell, the gentian extract is macerated into a mother tincture from which the aroma for the drink is obtained. In a one-week process, all ingredients are mixed to make the finished drink.

At the beginning of production, the distribution of Gents was limited to the Zurich area. It is now available throughout Switzerland and, at selected dealers, across Europe.

At the Expo 2015 , which took place in Milan under the motto “Feeding the Planet, Energy for life” , Gents was prominently presented in the base of the Swiss National Pavilion along with other typical Zurich products.
