Ginger ale
Ginger Ale [ ˈʤɪn.ʤerˈeɪɫ ] ( ) is a carbonated soft drink that owes its taste and name to the addition of natural ginger . It counts because of its composition in addition to bitter lemon and tonic water to the bitter lemonade and was from out of Germany coming watchmaker and silversmith Jacob Schweppe first time (1740-1821) in 1783 in Geneva produced. From 1792 Schweppe opened a second production facility in London together with partners .

Ginger Ale contains water , sugar , carbonic acid , acidulants , natural ginger and other natural flavors . The golden color is produced by the sugar color . Despite its name affinity with the English beer type ale , ginger ale is not a beer. Various fermentation processes work in the traditional production of this non-alcoholic drink , whereas industrially produced ginger ale can do without them.
Ginger Ale is used, among other things, as a cocktail ingredient and is a popular filler for long drinks , for example in Horse's Neck , Pimm's Cup or Ipanema , an alcohol-free Caipirinha variant. In German-speaking countries, ginger ale was also often used in the preparation of Moscow mules , as the somewhat hotter and spicier ginger beer was not available for a long time.

Well-known manufacturers are Schweppes and Canada Dry , but Ginger Ale is now offered by a large number of soft drink manufacturers, including Red Bull and Thomas Henry , and is also available as a private label in many discounters and supermarkets .
