Herbal lemonade
As a herbal lemonade refers to various soft drinks . Originally it is a lemonade with the taste of culinary herbs . Colloquially, showers with a herbal flavor or aroma are also referred to as herbal lemonade.
Manufacturing
In preparation, a pharmaceutical drug extract is produced. The main ingredients are sugar syrup and a sour condiment such as lemon juice or vinegar . These are boiled together. While it cools down, add herbs, fruits and spices . After several hours to days, the liquid is strained and can be used as an extract / syrup for making lemonade. Usually, it is then topped up with carbonated mineral water or table water .
Typical herbs are woodruff , lemon balm , mint and Gundermann . In addition, berries such as elderberry or sea buckthorn are given, which are unsuitable as a base for fruit lemonade . Because of their vegetable origin, drinks with tamarind or aloe vera are also included.
