Gentschach is a part of the Austrian market town of Kötschach-Mauthen in Carinthia .

The small village is located at the geographical beginning of the Lesach Valley, it is, so to speak, the gateway to the Lesach Valley. The border with Italy runs south 9 km away.

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1590. In 2001 there were 25 people living in Gentschach.

The village is known for the Sacred Heart Chapel and the annual Sacred Heart Festival.
