In the list of canons of the Einbeck Alexanderstift , the previously known provosts , deans and scholasters as well as any other known canons or functionaries of the Alexanderstift in Einbeck are listed with their respective term of office. If known, other offices are named. The Reformation in the monastery was introduced in 1545.

Toast

After the Reformation and the death of Franz von Waldeck in 1553, the provost dignity of St. Alexandri passed to the Dukes of Grubenhagen , and after their extinction in 1596 to the regents of the House of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel, Duke Heinrich Julius and Duke Friedrich Ulrich (until 1617).

After the Reformation, the function of dean was passed on to the senior monastery, the oldest of the Canonicis present .

  • From 1793 to 1805 this was (Georg Johann) Christian von Ramdohr , since 1788 a canon of the colleges.

The canonicals were used by the country's noble families to care for their sons until the 19th century. If possible, the children were already given a notation for such positions. In addition to free accommodation, there was little income. The official obligations were limited to a few official meetings and deliberations.
