The Georg-Büchner-Gymnasium is a high school in the Golzheim district of Düsseldorf .

history

The school was founded in 1965 and for many years was Düsseldorf's only advanced high school . During this time, many German teachers had additional training in the subject “German as a Foreign Language” because a good half of the students had a migration background. In 2015 it was decided to convert the school into a regular grammar school with a test level, intermediate level and upper level. In 2018, a new cafeteria was built for the Georg Büchner Gymansium and the neighboring secondary school in Golzheim for 2.7 million euros.

The school subject information and communication technology basic education (IKG) is taught in the 5th school year. In the IKG subject, the opportunities, dangers and risks of surfing the Internet with smartphones, tablets and the like are presented to the students.

There is also a brass class in the test level .

School partnerships

The school has two school partnerships. One of them is the St. Denis Ssebugwawo Secondary School of the partner school in Uganda in Ggaba on Lake Victoria near Kampala .
