Georg-Ludwig Bernhard Alfred-Friedrich von Breitenbuch (born June 19, 1971 in Göttingen ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the Saxon state parliament since 2009 .

Life

Von Breitenbuch comes from an old Thuringian noble family. After graduating from high school in 1990, von Breitenbuch did two years of military service as a reserve officer candidate in a tank reconnaissance battalion. His last rank was lieutenant in the reserve. He completed a two-year agricultural apprenticeship with an examination to become a farmer. At the Humboldt University in Berlin and at the Technical University of Dresden , he completed a degree in economics with a degree in economics. He has been running the family farm and forestry business in Kohren-Sahlis since 1998. In addition, he has been on the board of the agricultural cooperative Kohrener Land eG since 2004. For many years he was a member of the supervisory board of the local Volksbank.

Georg-Ludwig von Breitenbuch lives with his wife, five daughters and son in Kohren-Sahlis.

Von Breitenbuch has been a member of the CDU since 1997 and has been a member of the CDU district executive in the Leipziger Land district since 2001 . Since 1999 he has been a member of the Kohren-Sahlis City Council . Since 2005 he has been the district chairman of the CDU district association of the Leipzig district , and since 2009 he has also been a member of the CDU state committee in Saxony. He is deputy state chairman of the Land Union Sachsen and a member of the CDU federal committee for food and agriculture. In the state elections in 2009 , he was a direct candidate in the constituency of Leipziger Land 1 with a share of 40.2% of the votes in the 5th Saxon state parliament, where he was a member of the Committee on Economics, Labor and Transport and the Committee on Environment and Agriculture. He was the energy and forest policy spokesman for his group. In the state elections in 2014 , von Breitenbuch succeeded in re-entering the state parliament with 41.7% of the votes as a direct candidate in the constituency of Leipziger Land 1. He was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group and a member of the presidium of the Saxon state parliament. He served as a member of the Budget and Finance Committee and the Environment and Agriculture Committee.

In the state elections in Saxony in 2019 , he was elected constituency member in the Leipzig Land 1 constituency with 34.9 percent of the direct votes. He was again deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group and a member of the presidium of the Saxon state parliament. He also became budgetary and financial policy spokesman for the group, a member of the budget and finance committee and a member of the energy, climate, environment and agriculture committee.
