Georg Aulmann

Georg Aulmann (born May 27, 1884 in Schwäbisch Hall , † after 1935 ) was a German scientist and zoologist .

Life

He was the son of the photographer Emmerich Aulmann and his wife Frieda née Rhein from Schwäbisch Hall. After attending secondary school , Aulmann went to study at the Technical University in Darmstadt and then to the University of Erlangen . There Aulmann was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . During his studies he became a member of the Normannia Darmstadt Landsmannschaft in 1902 .

From 1908 to 1914 he was an assistant at the Zoological Museum in Berlin and was then appointed director of the Löbbecke and Natural Science Museum in Düsseldorf . In June 1921 Georg Aulmann also became director of the Düsseldorf Zoological Garden , which was desolate due to the war and economic crisis , whereby both institutions were run in personal union. Under his direction the zoo could even be operated profitably. In 1932 he transferred the management of the zoo to other hands.

Georg Aulmann was a member of the German Zoological Society (DZG) and the German Society for Applied Entomology .
