Georg Frebold

Georg Karl August Frebold (born December 1, 1891 in Hanover ; † February 24, 1948 in Barsinghausen ) was a German geologist , photographer and geology professor at the Technical University of Hanover .

Life

Career

Georg Frebold graduated from the Leibniz School in Hanover in 1912 and began his studies (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mathematics) at the TH Hanover, which he continued in Halle (philosophy). He received his doctorate in 1921 at the University of Tübingen ( The Influence of Zechstein Salts on the Design of the Göttingen Leinetal ). In 1930 he became an associate professor and in 1939 an adjunct professor at the TH Hannover. He was a member of the NSDAP from 1933 and from 1940 to 1945 head of the Office of Organization of the National Socialist German Lecturer Association (NSDDB) at the TH Hannover. From 1941 he also worked for the Government General in Eastern Galicia .

In addition to the regional geology of Lower Saxony, he dealt with practical geology.

Frebold's brother Hans Frebold was also a geologist (expert on the geology of the Arctic and polar explorer).
