Georg Frommhold

Georg Frommhold (born February 20, 1860 in Landeck , † January 22 or 23, 1943 in Greifswald ) was a German legal scholar and legal historian .

Life

The son of a district judge studied law at the Universities of Breslau and Heidelberg from 1881 to 1884 and received his doctorate on December 19, 1885 at the University of Breslau. In 1889 he worked as a court assessor . On May 3, 1890, Frommhold completed his habilitation in Breslau. In 1890/91 he worked as an unskilled worker at the Prussian Ministry of Culture .

On August 30, 1890 (or 1892) he was appointed associate professor and on November 12, 1894 (as successor to Philipp Heck ) as full professor at the University of Greifswald . In the academic year 1909/10 he was rector of the University of Greifswald. In 1911 he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of St Andrews . On March 31, 1925, Frommhold retired.
