Georg Heinrich Vogt

Georg Heinrich Vogt (born June 14, 1809 in Glan-Münchweiler ; † December 14, 1889 there ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran pastor and member of the Bavarian state parliament .

Life

Vogt was born the son of a pastor and attended grammar school in Zweibrücken . He studied Protestant theology in Erlangen (1829-1832). During his studies in 1829 he became a member of the old Erlanger fraternity Germania . Because of this forbidden membership, he was punished as a speaker by the University of Erlangen in 1832 with 14 days in prison and a year of relegation , which is why he moved to Heidelberg University . The proceedings against him for participating in the Frankfurt Wachensturm were discontinued in 1835. After graduation he became vicar in Glan-Münchweiler and was then pastor in Theisbergstegen (1839–1847). Then he was pastor and dean in Glan-Münchweiler until 1885 . He was involved in the 1848 revolution and was suspended for three months in 1850. From 1863 to 1869 he was a member of the Bavarian state parliament for the constituency of Homburg-Kusel / Pfalz.
