Georg Hermann Richerz (clergyman, 1756)
Georg Hermann Richerz (born April 1, 1756 in Lübeck , † July 7, 1791 in Hann. Münden ) was a German Lutheran clergyman and theologian.
Life
Richerz was the son of Lübeck pastor Georg Hermann Richerz (1716–1767). After studying in Göttingen and Leipzig, he became second university preacher and private lecturer at the Georg August University of Göttingen from 1779 . In 1785 he received a pastor's position in Harpstedt in the county of Hoya . In 1788 he became superintendent in Gifhorn . He translated the Isaiah commentary by Robert Lowth, which Johann Benjamin Koppe provided with additions and annotations, from English into German (4 volumes, 1779–1781) and in 1785 published Ludwig Anton Muratori's work On the Imagination of Man .
The mayor of Lübeck Georg David Richerz was his brother.
