Georg David Richerz

Georg David Richerz (born November 10, 1742 in Lübeck ; † October 3, 1811 there ) was a German lawyer and mayor of Lübeck .

Life

Richerz was the son of the pastor at the Jakobikirche in Lübeck and later senior of the Lübeck Spiritual Ministry Georg Hermann Richerz and his wife Anna Widderich , daughter of the mountain driver and Lübeck councilor Johann David Widderich . From 1763 he studied law at the University of Helmstedt . In 1766 he worked as the recorder of the Marstallgericht in Lübeck. He completed his law studies with a Lic. Jur. 1775 at the University of Giessen . He was first procurator at the Lübeck Higher Court and lived in the house at Hüxstraße with the old house number 291 in the Johannis Quartier . In 1799 he was elected to the city council and in 1810 during the French period of Lübeck he was appointed mayor of the city.

The superintendent Georg Hermann Richerz was his brother.
