Georg Lakner

Georg Lakner (born May 4, 1941 in Vienna ; † June 17, 2016 ) was an Austrian politician ( FPÖ / LIF ) and teacher at an AHS . He was a member of the Federal Council from 1989 to 1994 .

education and profession

Lakner attended a primary school in Vienna- Alsergrund from 1947 to 1951 and then moved from 1951 to 1955 to a federal high school in Vienna- Währing . He then graduated from the teacher training institute in Vienna- Landstrasse between 1955 and 1960 . Lakner also studied Indo-European and theater studies as well as teaching German and Latin at the universities of Vienna and Salzburg and graduated with the academic degree Mag. Phil. from. He also did military service between 1967 and 1968.

Lakner worked professionally from 1968 to 1971 as a teacher at a general special school. He then worked as a primary school teacher in Strobl from 1971 to 1972 and was a secondary school teacher in St. Gilgen and Hof between 1972 and 1982. In 1982 he became a professor at the Bundesrealgymnasium Salzburg -Stadt, and in 1987 he was assigned to the Federal Pedagogical Academy in Salzburg. Politics and functions

Lakner began his political career in the state of Salzburg, where he worked as a community representative in Hof from 1984 to 1988. In 1983 he became a member of the district party leadership of the FPÖ Flachgau and rose to a member of the state party leadership of the FPÖ Salzburg in 1985. Furthermore, from 1985 he was chairman of the Freedom Salzburg State Teachers' Association in the Flachgau district and in 1986 took over the role of Salzburg FPÖ State Officer for Education and Training. In addition, from 1987 he held the position of chairman of the Freedom Education Center in Salzburg and was also co-opted into the regional party executive of the FPÖ Salzburg that year. From May 3, 1989 Lakner was a member of the Federal Council, where he represented the FPÖ Salzburg. He then became a member of the federal party leadership of the FPÖ and held the function of chairman of the FPÖ parliamentary group from 1990 to 1992. He was also a member of the club's executive committee and was co-opted into the federal party executive committee.

Lakner was one of the founding members of the Liberal Forum and was from February 15, 1993 without party affiliation in the Federal Council. However, he was a member of the Liberal Parliamentary Club and from 1994 was spokesman for the Liberal Forum Salzburg.
