Alfred Georg Mickler (born September 7, 1892 in Charlottenburg ; † June 14, 1915 in Galicia , now Poland ) was a German athlete and Olympic participant who was the first German to set a world record in athletics in an individual discipline: on June 22, 1913 he scored in Hanover a time of 2: 32.6 min in the 1000 meter run.

He also started at the Olympic Games in 1912 in the 1,500-meter run and in the 3,000-meter team run and was eliminated in the preliminary run.

Georg Mickler belonged to the sports club SC Charlottenburg . In 1913 he became German champion over 800 and 1500 meters. In 1914 he moved to Hungary for one season at MTK Budapest , where he became national champion over 880 yards under the name Mickler György .

Georg Mickler fell on the Eastern Front in June 1915 .
