Georg Paul Rötenbeck

Georg Paul Rötenbeck (born April 14, 1648 in Nuremberg , † April 15, 1710 in Altdorf near Nuremberg ) was a German , Protestant philosopher and professor of politics .

Life

He was born as the son of the married couple Georg and Katharina Magdalene, née Schwenter. In 1655 he began his school education and in 1659 his high school education. He began his studies at the University of Altdorf in 1666 and received his master's degree there in 1671. After the subsequent stay in Frankfurt am Main he went to Jena in 1672 and was supported by Weigel , Posner and Johann Wilhelm Baier , among others . In 1681 he became a full professor in Altdorf.

Between 1670 and 1710 more than 40 dissertations were written under his aegis . Among his students was u. a. Leonhard Christoph Sturm .
