Georg Rainer Hofmann

Georg Rainer Hofmann (born November 10, 1961 in Rimhorn , Odenwald ) is a German computer scientist, professor and director of the Information Management Institute at the Technical University in Aschaffenburg .

Career

After studying computer science, minor subjects in economics and philosophy, at the Technical University of Darmstadt , he obtained his doctorate in 1991 under José Luis Encarnação ( TU Darmstadt ) and Peter Stucki ( University of Zurich ) on the technical-philosophical subject of "Naturalism in Computer Graphics".

From 1987 to 1992 he was a research associate and department head at the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics in Darmstadt. From 1993 to 1996 he was a consultant (authorized signatory) at KPMG Unternehmensberatung GmbH in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin. He has been a professor at Aschaffenburg University since 1996.

From 1999 to 2009 he was a lecturer in the master's degree in "Business Information Systems" at the University of Liechtenstein and from 1995 to 2017 he was a lecturer in the MBA course in "Business Integration" at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

Hofmann is spokesman for the “Software and Service Market” specialist group of the Society for Information Technology eV and spokesman for the “E-Commerce” competence group of eco - Association of the Internet Industry eV

He is a member of the supervisory board of CAPCom AG, Darmstadt.

Research topics

Hofmann pursues a critical-rational discourse of the analysis of directly relevant questions of corporate management and their interaction with technical, social and ethical questions.
