Georg Ernst Adolf Riedesel Freiherr zu Eisenbach (born February 5, 1876 in Lauterbach ; † October 3, 1934 in Altenburg ) was a German administrative lawyer and district administrator .

Life

Riedesel zu Eisenbach came from the Hessian noble family Riedesel zu Eisenbach . He was the son of the Hessian Hereditary Marshal Georg Riedesel zu Eisenbach (Hereditary Marshal, 1845) and his wife Anna, née von Stülpnagel . Riedesel zu Eisenbach married Minette von Sydow on October 5, 1905 at Westhusen Castle (* July 1, 1885 in Wischlingen ). She was the daughter of the manor owner and Rittmeister Konrad von Sydow. The marriage produced four sons and one daughter.

Riedesel zu Eisenbach initially received private lessons and then attended the Wettiner grammar school in Dresden from August 1887 to September 1889 . From autumn 1889 he attended the Ludwig-Georgs-Gymnasium in Darmstadt and from autumn 1890 the Grand Ducal New Gymnasium in Darmstadt. On February 22, 1894, he passed the Abitur and then studied law at the universities of Geneva, Berlin, Leipzig and Marburg. He passed the first state examination in law on March 5, 1897 at the Kassel Regional Court with the grade “sufficient”. He then worked as a trainee lawyer at the Grossenlüder District Court, the Regional Court and the Kassel Public Prosecutor. From October 4, 1900, he was a government trainee with the government and the Königsberg district office and at times deputy to the mayor of Ortelsburg . On November 14, 1903, he passed the second state examination (“sufficient”). From December 12, 1903, he was a government assessor and worked in the Neuss district, the Higher Presidium of Münster and the Kassel government. On December 12, 1908, he was appointed provisional district administrator in the Hofgeismar district, where he was definitely district administrator on May 29, 1909. On March 31, 1919, he left civil service at his own request without a pension. He wanted to take care of the administration of his estate in the turmoil of the November Revolution.

In 1894/95 he was a one-year volunteer with the 1st Guard Field Artillery Regiment of the Prussian Army . In 1898 he became a lieutenant in the reserve and in 1909 a first lieutenant in the reserve.
